What is a construction Wireman?

A Construction Wireman is an entry-level position for electrical construction.  You can become a Construction Wireman at anytime prior to, while completing, or after submitting the application to become an apprentice. 

There are a couple of methods to get started as a Construction Wireman.

One way to get started is to reach out to the various electrical contractors in the area to see if they are accepting applications for the Construction Wireman position.

• IBEW 347 List of Contractors in the Des Moines Area

If so, you can submit an application for employment as a Construction Wireman.

Another option to get started as a Construction Wireman would be to visit IBEW Local 347, 6809 SE Bellagio Ct, Ankeny, IA 50021 or give them a call at 515-243-1924 to learn more.

Once you are signed up as a Construction Wireman with the IBEW, you can begin answering job calls that are placed by electrical contractors looking for construction wiremen.
