Looking to become a Construction Wireman.

What is a construction Wireman?

A Construction Wireman is an entry-level position for electrical construction. You can become a Construction Wireman before or during the application process to become an apprentice.

The first step to becoming a Construction Wireman would be to visit IBEW Local 347, 6809 SE Bellagio Ct, Ankeny, IA 50021 or give them a call at 515-243-1924 to learn more.

Once you are signed up as a Construction Wireman with the IBEW you can begin answering job calls or start reaching out to electrical contractors to find out if they are hiring and interview with any that are interested.

Already a Construction Wireman.

If you are a Construction Wireman and need to complete your monthly work report, you will need to login to TradeSchool to do so.

Recording On-the-job-training (OJT) hours in Tradeschool. The first time you log into TradeSchool you will need to use the email address that you provided to us. Once you have the webpage open, you will need to click on the “reset password” link. It will then prompt you to enter a temporary password, which you will have to enter twice.

If you have a registered account through TradeSchool with the Des Moines Electrical Apprenticeship (if you have applied you will have one), you will have an e-mail address on file.
